A Question From a Network Member

Rona Estwick from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust asks:

I am trying to get a feel of the approach other Trusts’ are taking in respect of advice given to pregnant staff/their managers for well pregnant women >28 weeks.  I have identified some differences in approaches and wanted to gain a larger sample from the wider OH community. Do you:

1.       Default to advising that all pregnant staff > 28 weeks are to be redeployed into non-patient facing roles, or

2.       Default to a risk assessment approach e.g.  taking into consideration the options to be redeployed into green / low risk areas / enhanced PPE/ risk mitigation, etc.
