Streamlining workshop

Please see below an invitation from Sarah Kilner, NE Streamlining Programme Manager, to attend a workshop in Leeds on Friday 20th April to share progress on streamlining nationally.  To register to attend the workshop please contact Sarah direct.

Dear all,

Occupational Health colleagues are invited to attend an OH streamlining workshop in Leeds on Friday 20th April 2018. The event is hosted by the North East of England OH work stream who have been funded by NHS Improvement to lead on occupational health streamlining. The agenda will be confirmed in due course.  In the absence of an appropriate distribution list, it would be appreciated if you could share this appropriately.

The purpose of this session is to share the streamlining achievements of OH colleagues in the North East then discuss the proposed national commissioned work piece specific to OH clinical consistency. The production of such standards would support a key streamlining objective of eliminating variation both between and within our regions. These standards would seek to replicate those currently in place for NHS recruitment colleagues with the aim that they are supported by the Faculty of Occupational Health.

The aim of any commissioned work would be to produce;

a.    A set of fully endorsed national vaccinations and immunisation processes

b.    A defined and endorsed minimum data set to enable OH clearance

c.    How national challenges will be addressed

d.    A clear national consultation / implementation plan of action

We have raised with the NHS Health at Work Network whether it is feasible to produce this work, given the different levels of progress that have been made around the country on this matter.  We therefore wish to engage further, with regions encouraged to nominate a point of contact and OH representatives to attend this session. We suggest 5 representatives per region.

It is acknowledged that this may be significant travel for most, however we are keen to start this conversation on a national basis to progress and support one another on such a vital workstream.

Thank you and kind regards,

Sarah Kilner
