Query from Network member

Dr Jane Spenceley from Hampshire Hospitals asks:

In view of recommendation from the nhs staff and learners mental wellbeing commission report, Feb 2019; The Commission advocates that occupational health should be prioritised as a frontline clinical function and funded appropriately to provide proactive, responsive support to all NHS staff.  Can colleagues state under which part of the NHS management structure does OH management sit, eg corporate including HR, medical director, nursing director, chief operating officer or a clinical division, eg medicine.  We have the opportunity to look at this for our OH team and are currently performing a SWOT analysis for various options and are interesting to know to whom other OH departments report to.

Please respond direct to jane.spenceley@hhft.nhs.uk and cc to admin@nhshealthatwork.co.uk.
