We are dedicated to maintaining a healthy, motivated workforce
Dear Network members
On 15th July the government launched a consultation, “Health is everyone’s business: proposals to reduce ill health-related job loss”. This consultation seeks views on different ways in which government and employers can take action to reduce ill health-related job loss. Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions are at greater risk of falling out of work.
As part of this consultation the government are conducting workshops with occupational health providers in order to understand their views in more detail. We would value your contribution and insight to inform our proposals.
There will be 2 separate meetings.
Friday 4th October – OH providers workforce insight group
This session will be held at Caxton House, Tothill Street, SW1H 9NA, London. This session will start at 11.30am start and will last approximately 2-3 hours.
We would like to invite you to take part in a small workshop to discuss the occupational health workforce, staff training and innovation within the OH market. We would be very keen for your organisation to select an appropriate member of staff to discuss these issues. We anticipate this should be a senior member of the OH team who is able to discuss workforce issues.
Monday 7th October – OH professionals subsidy insight group
This session will be held at Caxton House, Tothill Street, SW1H 9NA, London. This session will start at 1pm and will last approximately 2-3 hours.
We would like to invite you to take part in a small workshop to discuss ways of improving access to occupational health services for employers and self-employed people. We would be very keen for your organisation to select an appropriate member of staff to discuss these issues. We anticipate this should be a senior member of the OH team who is able to discuss matters of finance.
Each workshop will last 2-3 hours and participation is voluntary. We recognise that your time is valuable - your attendance will give you the opportunity to help shape a key policy area and government approach. During the workshop DWP staff will make notes of the key points of discussion, which will be used to inform the consultation response. We may also include quotes from the workshop in the consultation response, but we will ensure that all quotes are anonymised. All notes made during the workshop will be destroyed once the consultation is complete.
To register for either of these workshops or for more information please email KIRAN.BHAMBRA@dwp.gov.uk
