Jane Spenceley from Hampshire Hospitals asks:

Prioritising treatment for NHS staff

I am trying to identify evidence base for such a suggestion and have referenced Steve Boorman, Carol Black and recent NHS Employers document Mar 2018 – does anyone else know of useful evidence to support such an approach.

Does any Trust have an agreed policy / protocol for fast tracking staff for treatment beyond psychological support and physiotherapy services, eg. for conditions that are leading to sickness absence or requirement for significant adjustments in the workplace such that staff get earlier OPD appointments or surgery dates.  This would be really useful to feed back to a workforce sub committee in my Trust that are currently discussing this at present in view of the workforce difficulties being experienced within the Trust.

Please respond direct to Jane.Spenceley@hhft.nhs.uk and cc to admin@nhshealthatwork.co.uk.
