We are dedicated to maintaining a healthy, motivated workforce
Dear Colleagues
The problems in the NHS have taken centre stage in recent media reports, particularly about emergency beds and trolley waits. The Royal College of Physicians spoke out yesterday in a public letter to the Prime Minister. Other signatories included Julia Smedley, on behalf of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
Julia, a consultant OH physician in the NHS and Network member, advises me that the letter was prompted not only by concerns and fears for patient care but also for NHS workers. Read the full text here.
I am sure that we are all aware from our own services and staff ‘patients’ of the pressures in the system at present. It is good to know that the welfare of the NHS workforce has strong support from professional leaders.
Best wishes
Dr Anne de Bono
