Dr. Paul Harris from Airedale NHS Foundation Trust asks:

“Please could I ask how other trusts classify anaesthetists with regards to EPP work? I am aware of all of the relevant guidance on the topic, including that issued by the department of health, which suggests that anaesthetists would normally not need clearance for EPP work. I am aware that there are a couple of procedures that anaesthetists may very rarely carry out that would be considered EPP. I am also aware that the likely response to this question is that it will come down to an individual risk assessment, but I was keen to get an idea of classification in other trusts.”
