We are dedicated to maintaining a healthy, motivated workforce
David Maslen-Jones from Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust asks:
“We have recently undergone a full Service review which has highlighted the fact that because we employ counsellors and physiotherapists within our Service that we should be registered with the Care Quality Commission because we are providing “treatment”. I have been instructed therefore that we need to move these services out of Occupational Health. I am conscious that this may well affect many of you if the decision is upheld.
Has this been raised within any other Trusts who provide in-house “treatment” and if so what have your Trusts done to comply, i.e. have any of you registered OH services as one of the treatments offered in your core CQC registration? Or have you registered separately as a treatment provider. I would be interested to get your views.”
