We are dedicated to maintaining a healthy, motivated workforce
Dr Jane Spenceley from Hampshire Hospitals asks:
Following the changes to the Green Book recently from healthcare workers who will have contact with patients or clinical materials and laboratory staff who will have contact with patients, clinical materials or derived isolates to healthcare worker or laboratory worker, who has direct contact with TB patients or with potentially infectious clinical materials or derived isolates, I am wanting to gain an understanding of how Trust's are interpreting this (I am aware that local risk assessments will need to be performed).
Is the general opinion that minimal staff will be vaccinated, ie only relevant lab workers, mortuary workers, infectious diseases staff or are Trusts also going to vaccinate more widely , eg ED staff, respiratory disease staff and acute medical staff. Grateful for your opinions as to how different Trust's are interpreting this changed guidance.
Please respond direct to Jane.Spenceley@hhft.nhs.uk and cc to admin@nhshealthatwork.co.uk.
