Reconfiguration conference 2011

NHS Reconfiguration Conference - 13 January 2011

NHS Plus hosted a conference for members on reconfiguring NHS Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services on Thursday 13th July. The conference was attended by 135 delegates from across the Network, and evaluated by 96% respondents as meeting their expectations.

The conference opened with Professor John Harrison, newly appointed Director of NHS Plus outlining the challenge followed by Wendy Russell and Stephen Bevan, who summarised progress to date with the Review of NHS Occupational Health Services. We then enjoyed two practical case studies presented by Dr Richard Preece from Cheshire and Barry Lane from Bristol.

More than 100 delegates then seized the opportunity of the optional syndicate working in local geographical groups to explore how they might take the collaboration agenda forward locally. It was clear from informal feedback that a number of areas are actively exploring/developing the Area Collaborative Model.  The programme and copies of the presentations are available below.

Professor John Harrison - NHS Health and Wellbeing Services: the case for change

Stephen Bevan/Wendy Russell - Review of NHS Occupational Health Services

Chris Jeffries - Managing whole system change to OH service provision in the NW

Dr Richard Preece - Cheshire OH service: engagement and implementation

Barry Lane - Area collaborative service: building sustainability
